Drama & Musical Theatre
Something for everyone! Our drama classes start as young as 3 years old with age groups up to 12 years.
Classes range from putting on a full-length production in our upstairs theatre, to back to basics and focusing on various techniques.
3-4yrs Didi Drama & Musical Theatre (40 minutes)
Didi Drama is part of our Petite Performer series. Digby Drama likes to go on an adventure, taking your child through stories full of fantasy and superheroes galore! By the power of singing, moving & imagination, Digby Drama will teach your child to develop their speech, how to use eye contact, body language and the joy of storytelling using their body and their voice. Your Petite Performer’s confidence and communication will grow as they work with the group to create a universe of their own, a place where dreams really do come true!
4-6yrs & 5-7YRS Foundation I Drama/Musical Theatre (45 min)
Each semester focuses on a new theme, from our original shows such as 'Pirates & Mermaids' or 'Fairytales & Dragons' to hit movie classics the kiddies just can't get enough of, such as 'Trolls', 'Sing', 'The Lion King' and many more. Classes are kept new, fun and exciting whilst continually stretching your child's imagination. Classes are fun-packed and fast-paced, whether it's working towards our yearly in-house productions from September-January, or our end of year Spring Recital, allowing children to show their family and friends all their hard work and achievements.
6-9yrs Foundation II Drama/musical theatre (60min)
8-12yrs Junior Drama/musical theatre (60 min)
Foundation II and Junior Drama classes focus on enhancing the skills taught in Foundation I Drama and really pushing them to the next level in theatre, singing and dance. Throughout the first part of the year we focus on a production, such as 'The Wizard Of Oz', 'Matilda' or 'Charlie & The Chocolate Factory' geared towards performing a full scale show to family & friends in our upstairs theatre. The second part of the year is all about technique. Working on vocal techniques, Audition Techniques, as well as Theatre and On-Camera based script work. Your child will work on song and dance pieces from Broadway and West-End Musicals to perform in the end of year recital. This is a great class for industry and non-industry students alike.
