Drama & Musical Theatre
Something for everyone! Our drama classes start as young as 3 years old with age groups up to 12 years.
Classes range from putting on a full-length production in our upstairs theatre, to back to basics and focusing on various techniques.
3-5yr Didi Drama & Musical Theatre (40 minutes)
Didi Drama is part of our Petite Performer series. Digby Drama likes to go on an adventure, taking your child through stories full of fantasy and superheroes galore! By the power of singing, moving & imagination, Digby Drama will teach your child to develop their speech, how to use eye contact, body language and the joy of storytelling using their body and their voice. Your Petite Performer’s confidence and communication will grow as they work with the group to create a universe of their own, a place where dreams really do come true!
Our 3-5yr Drama students also work towards performing in a Fall & Spring Review each season (show themes are often popular hits like Frozen, Encanto, etc). Theses reviews are held in a real blackbox theatre, complete with song/dance numbers, costumes and a small set!
4-6yrs & 5-7YRS Drama & Musical Theatre (45 min)
Our 4-6 / 5-7yr Drama students work towards performing in a Fall & Spring Review each season (show themes are often popular hits like Frozen, Encanto, etc). Theses reviews are held in a real blackbox theatre, complete with song/dance numbers, costumes and a small set!
These classes also do weekly exercises that focus on imagination, creativity, and memorization, and that build confidence in movement, speech and singing! Classes are fun-filled and fast-paced - kept new and exciting by continually stretching your child's imagination.
6-8yrr Drama & musical theatre (65 min)
8-12yr Drama & musical theatre (75 min)
Our 6-8yr & 8-12yr Drama classes focus on enhancing the skills taught in our 4-6 / 5-7yr Drama classes, really pushing them to the next level in theatre, singing and dance. These classes work towards performing in our Fall Review & May Mainstage shows each season, which are based around a popular show (in the past, we have done Aladdin, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, etc.). These shows will be in a real blackbox theatre, complete with song/dance numbers, costumes & a set! The class also does weekly exercises that focus on imagination, creativity, and memorization, and that build confidence in movement, speech and singing! This is a great class for industry and non-industry students alike.
